I like a bit of heat. But over 30 is warm. We got up here a week ago on Tuesday, and it was 37C.
Home made pizza.
Joannie insists on lying next to Vodka now.
It was windy and poor Vodka didn't want to go into water. The waves were too big.
We haven't golfed yet. Too warm. And expensive. Most golf up here is now over $100. And closer to $200. Ridiculous.
We have biked though. We drove down to Mission Creek and biked a nice gravel path. Then have to cross over Harvey, hwy 97. And then to a paved path. Very nice. Through the city to City park. Then parallel the lake through the old part. And to Creekside Pub. Stop. Bite to eat and a beer and back on gravel trail to our truck.
We met a nice couple beside us at Canyon Farms RV Park, where we always stay. Lisa and Rose. They are from Santa Barbara. So we took them on the same bike route the next day!
Stopped at a coffee roaster, Craft 42. I knew where it was because it was beside a brewery 😁. They're confessed coffee snobs. They bought a lb of coffee and were thrilled we took them there!
We of course stopped at Creekside Pub again and they bought us lunch! So nice! Of course the waitress looked at us and was "oh hi again". Eeks. Two days in a row. Getting a reputation!
We really enjoyed their company. They have invited us to visit when we are in Palm Springs next year. I said we might book somewhere close and that way we can stay in our trailer with the dogs. Although they have a dog and said we could absolutely stay at their place with our dogs.
And we said if they need a place to stay in the lower mainland, they are more than welcome to stay at our place.
We also treated Anne (sister) and Adrian (niece) to a play. And Anne treated us to dinner. Sushi! Really really good.
Today we met up with Connie and Lee. One of my golf friends and also an ex TELUS person. We did the same bike ride, but the reverse. Then we had lunch at the Train Station pub (different pub. Ie the reputation problem 🙄). When we came out it must have been 10 degrees warmer . Yikes. So we are home now and in the air conditioned trailer.
We have also visited the doggie beaches a couple of times. Just to fight the heat.
We are golfing next week with our friends Alicja and Bill who are coming up for 3 nights. Still going to be smoking hot. But for the first time in 3 yrs, no smoke..... yet.
Oh and a few breweries.
Shoreline brewery. Good beer and really good bacon, brisket poutine. Yum
This is actually the first visit to creekside pub.
I take this picture every year as I find it hilarious! This is Dunenzies Pizza. Good food. Good beer. Good friends. Forgot to get a picture of them!.
We also had pizza with friends Tracey and Kevin. And then had dinner at their house. They are always so generous. And food was fabulous. Kevin had to kick me out as Tracey had to work the next day. And we were already into the wine. Good call Kevin!
A cute picture of Vodka. And a picture of this crazy bird that must see himself in the truck and trailer windows. As he keeps trying to get into our truck and trailer. Silly bird.

Many good things in this great post. First you didn't fall off your bike and hurt yourself 😁 Second you had a nice visit with Anne and Adrian and a good dinner😊 Thirdly...new friends! Eric and I always say RVing has always been the best thing broaden our horizons and make new friends. All of our best late in life experiences came from RVing. The prices for everything, not just golf are ridiculous!!!
ReplyDeleteSo true. Met many nice people.
