July 24, 2025 - Kelowna

There hasn't been much happening.  We got the air conditioning fixed in the truck. Surprise,  not only the compressor but some hose that cost $500 with labour.   I asked "Is it gold?  Is it coming in on a golden chariot?"  The whole thing cost $2900.  Oy vey.

But we had a Mercedes as a loaner.

That is me crying because we don't have our truck.  Ham!

Onto the trailer.  Took it in for the second time today.  The long and short of it was, Grand Design was back ordered on brake pads. My GOD (my substitute word for the other word), brake pads.  And it's under warranty. No brake pads for at least 2 weeks.  I talked to the Travelland General Manager who agreed he would ask Service to source brake pads and they would cover the cost.  They were ordered.

When they opened the box, surprise, they were the wrong ones.  Our trailer has abs brakes.

The supplier was confused.  Never saw abs for a trailer.  It's new. So now, back to Grand Design, and the minimum 2 week wait. We leave on the 30th.  Put the trailer back together and we drive it back to the campsite.  We will have all the parts sent to Langley, and we will get it fixed, when we return.

The brakes work, but the one pad is chewed up.

Am awaiting an email, that will guarantee, the trailer is safe to drive.  IF anything happens and ICBC tries anything.

NOT HAPPY.

The nice thing is we spent the whole day talking to our friends Sven and Heather.  And they looked after our dogs.

Ok on to better things. We have golfed twice at the small Pinnacle course, which is Gallaghers small course.  We have a "Red book" which has coupons for golf.  We golfed with Sven and Heather.

Last night we had dinner with our friends Kevin and Tracy. I've known Tracy since grade 1.  So only a few years ago 😏.  We met for pizza and beer.  Hilarious time ensued.   So much so, that they invited us for dinner Sunday.  Yay love those guys.

Today I had my sister Anne and niece Adrian over to see our new trailer.   They loved it.  And finally I can post pictures of something I have been keeping secret I made a quilt for my sister Anne. For her 70th birthday. And little late but oh well.

Anne with Adrian in background.

Me bragging of how beautifully I mitered my corners!

Anne and Adrians visit.

And of course random pictures of doggies.  Also,  Wilbur took doggies down to creek last week.

I will try to not leave it so long between blogs. But with all the repairs.  Our 3 weeks flew by, without us hardly doing anything.
