August 15-2021 Kelowna

Wineries and fires. 

We had a nice afternoon with Alicja and Bill.  We visited Tantalus winery and had a sit down wine tasting.  

Now from the next picture, you can clearly see Wilbur is REALLY enjoying himself!

After that we went to their hotel and had a charcuterie board I made up and brought.  And it wasn't ON a board at all but in a metal cake tin with a lid.  Unfortunately, I didn't take a picture.  

Then a little after that we ate more!  Alicja made 4 marinated chicken breasts from Urban Fare. Each one was a different flavour. And they were very tender.  Also we had salad and corn on the cob. And dessert was Butter Pecan ice cream.  BURP 

And while we were enjoying a lovely visit, a new fire started right at Peachland!   Quite close to a neighbourhood.  They are hitting it with 5 water bombers and helicopters.  But I know at nightfall they get grounded.  I hope it isnt worse in the morning.  Read castanet.net for further info.

These pictures are of the smoke and setting sun, from our trailer...which smoke?  Who knows, we are surrounded pretty well now.  But interestingly, today was actually smoke free and you could see the water!  Again these pictures are from my  phone and don't do the apocalyptic feel, justice.
