Joy and Wilbur Travels: July 3, 2022 Kelowna

Well the weather is very changeable up here this year. Yesterday was hot for most of the day then a bit of rain. Today is mostly rainy and the thunder is back! I am sure there is lightening too, but I haven’t seen it. Thank goodness it has been a wet year, so that hopefully, it won’t cause any fires.

On Thursday we road our bikes along the mission greenway and over to this little hole in the wall brewery. Jackknife Brewery. We wanted to try the pizza last year, but wasn’t hungry? Or thought we wouldn’t finish the whole pizza HA HA and would have to take some home on the bike. Well we ate it all and it was good.

There are jackknifes resined into all the tables. Cool! My Dad always carried a jackknife. It was the generation. Good for scraping things, using as a screwdriver in a pinch, prying things open.

This is the pizza. Yes it’s a large and yes we finished it all! VERY good. Thin crust so not as filling. So we told ourselves. BURP!

Friday I took my sister Anne out for lunch. Completely forgot to take a picture..darn.. She lives in West Kelowna, in the Glenrosa area. She is actually getting ready to sell her house and move closer to her daughter, Adrian, who lives in Rutland. So she will move to the other side of the bridge.

Even though the bridge is much improved over the old floating bridge, it can still back up terribly in rush hour. Traffic was good when I went to Anne’s on Friday. But it still took me 45 mins. Granted we are way up by Gallagher’s golf course and she is at the far end of West Kelowna.

Then Saturday we decided to ride (on our new electric bikes) all the way from our trailer, to the farmers market and back All down hill there, and all uphill on the way back 21Km round trip. (Duh, if it’s downhill one way, I guess it’s uphill the other way.) NEVER could have done that with my regular bike. But with turbo it was easy. We still have to pedal the whole way, but still easy.
