It's our last day here. So a little of this and that.
We went to the 2 pubs they have here. The 2nd one is right at the entrance to our park. Newkey's Place. It is owned and operated by the permanent trailer park next door.
It reminds me of old, low ceiled taverns from the States. It had a pool table and most of the table and chairs are old relects. The big table and chairs reminds me of my granny's table. Which my Mom got after she died. And we ate on all the time. A few scruffy old patrons. We didn't try the food. But beer is beer.
We also golfed at Kokanee Springs. Not an inexpensive course. My round was up and down. Putting wasn't good. Drives were ok. In between shots were hit and miss. Literally! Ugh.
We came home walked the dogs and then went back to the course to have appies. Full restaurant as there is a hotel there and they need to be able to feed the people on site. Appies were ok. Wilbur ordered five things. The dry ribs were weird. They were boneless which is fine, but they were breaded and deep fried. Poutine was good and gyozas were good. We had two small bahn mi buns with pork belly. I liked it, Wilbur didn't. And then spring rolls which we suspect were frozen. But OKish.
A picture from a few days ago of me baking chicken breasts, I slit and put brie and cherry jam in. The jam came from the restaurant we visited in Kelowna. Where I bought 5? jams. Called "The Jammery". Saw that coming, didn't you!
And then a few pictures of the park and a silly dog, resting his head on the leg of the picnic table. Such a prince.
Off to Kettle River RV Park tomorrow. Which means we are taking the ferry from here (10 mins away) to Balfour, north of Nelson. And then drive down through Castlegar. A new experience, taking the ferry.
