We are in Kimberley. We were in Castlegar for 2 nights.
While we were there, we drove up to Nelson with doggies to meet our friend Katie. She is from the lower mainland, but her daughter and grand daughter and boyfriend live there. Kirsten, Coral, a cutie and Oliver. We met for beers and food. A fun time. Nelson is a quirky little town.
As an aside, my Aunt and Uncle lived there. And when I was 10ish we would drive up for summer vacation. One year there was a neighbour's grandchild visiting, and we hung out together. Can't remember her name. But we got to have a sleep over there, upstairs, on the most comfortable mattress I have ever slept on. It was a feather mattress. Good times.
On the drive back from Nelson we got stopped in traffic. It had been quite windy with tree stuff all over the roads. Apparently a tree had fallen on a power line and sparked a fire. YIKES. We were probably stopped a 1/2 an hour. They jumped on it quite quickly. Thankfully! It had caused a short power outage in Castlegar. So I was really happy we had taken the dogs with us!
The place we stay is very lovely. A lot of permanent trailers, but not junky at all. They do have a lot of "rules". No kids; no music outside, ever; etc. You get it. But they are super nice. And you will see from the pictures, it is very lush. We have stayed here before, so we knew the routine.
Onto Kimberley today. Rain when we were leaving, but it cleared up fairly soon. Considering it was a long weekend, traffic was great. Not very far to drive.
The place we are staying today is more like a campground. More rustic. Lots of kids and families. They do have a pool and miniature golf. And you can walk down to the river. St Mary River. I want to do that with the dogs. We stayed here a long time ago. We had our truck camper then!
Its is thundering right now, but I haven't seen any lightning.
I went to take a glass out of the cupboard and when I opened it, the whole cupboard full of glasses launched itself at me. (Ok 4 or 5). From a height a foot taller than me, and we know I am 7'2" (ok 5"5'). I forgot to check all the cupboards when we stopped. This trailer has everything packed away better. And we have things in plastic containers. Even in the fridge.
But not this cupboard. I tried dancing out of the way. (Rumba, should have Salsa'd) But didn't quite make it. A plastic glass fell on my big toe. Yes, next to the toe with the almost ripped off toenail. FLARG, DARN, SHITE. It really hurt. And yes it cut me right below the toenail!
My deceased husband explained to me that physics works the same way today, as it did two days before. And that nothing has changed, and I should have opened it slowly. Obituary to follow!
Deceased husband almost had the glass of water thrown at him. He climbed out of the hole by putting a bandage on it.
It is pouring rain right now. Time for sleep.

We can't remember everything all the time but my guess is you'll remember to open that cupboard slowly after that.😁
